    Shore Crew play a vital supporting role within Stanswood Beach Rescue by assisting beach and water operations from the shoreline. While not normally operating in the water, Shore Crew provide essential observational, logistical, and practical support that enables lifeguards and rescue teams to operate safely and effectively. Their presence helps ensure that rescue responses are coordinated, well-managed, and supported from land.

    Working closely with Beach Lifeguards, Duty Managers, and senior officers, Shore Crew contribute to the smooth running of operations and play a key role in maintaining safety, communication, and situational awareness during routine patrols and emergency incidents.

    A Beach Lifeguard is responsible for helping to protect life and promote safety for all users of the beach and surrounding water. Working as part of the Stanswood Beach Rescue team, Beach Lifeguards play a vital frontline role in preventing accidents, identifying hazards, and responding effectively to incidents. Through constant vigilance, proactive engagement with the public, and a calm, professional approach, Beach Lifeguards help to create a safe, welcoming, and well-managed beach environment.

    The role requires individuals to work closely with other lifeguards, Duty Managers, and senior officers, following clear direction while also using their training and judgement to respond appropriately to changing conditions.

  • Overview of Role

    Fundraising Team plays a vital role in supporting the continued operation and development of Stanswood Beach Rescue. Through organising events, building relationships within the community, and seeking financial support from donors, businesses, and grant providers, the team helps ensure the charity has the resources needed to carry out its lifesaving work.

    Working as part of the wider Stanswood Beach Rescue team, the Fundraising Team helps secure funding for essential equipment, training, rescue craft maintenance, and community water safety initiatives. Their efforts directly contribute to keeping volunteers properly trained and equipped to respond to emergencies along the coastline.

    The role requires individuals to work collaboratively with trustees, operational teams, and community partners to plan fundraising activities, promote the charity’s work, and engage supporters. Through creativity, organisation, and strong communication, the Fundraising Team helps sustain the charity and ensure Stanswood Beach Rescue can continue protecting lives and promoting water safety within the local community.

  • Overview of Role

    Training Team plays a key role in developing and maintaining the skills, knowledge, and professionalism of volunteers within Stanswood Beach Rescue. Through the delivery and organisation of training sessions, exercises, and qualifications, the Training Team ensures that all members are prepared to respond safely and effectively to search and rescue incidents.

    Working as part of the wider Stanswood Beach Rescue team, the Training Team helps plan and deliver operational training covering areas such as rescue techniques, casualty care, water safety, communication, and equipment use. Regular training exercises help volunteers build confidence, maintain competence, and work effectively together during real incidents.

    The role requires individuals to work closely with operational leaders, instructors, and partner organisations to maintain high training standards and ensure volunteers remain competent and operationally ready. Through structured training, mentoring, and ongoing development, the Training Team helps ensure Stanswood Beach Rescue can provide a professional and effective lifesaving service to the community
